Recap: IDSKETCHING.COM at IDSA Western Conference

dsc_0396-1

Yes I got married and on my honeymoon (with the permission of my lovely bride), represented for IDSKETCHING.COM at the IDSA Western Conference. Hosting the workshop was a fun experience and we had a good showing from students and professionals alike.

My presentation was titled “Back to Basics” and included some content form the site here as well as some additional insights into my professional sketch process (I may include some of that later, but for  now I’ve included some step by step images). I also hosted a live demo showing a simple technique for collecting and presenting ideas in sketch form.

All in all, it was a good showing, and I look forward to continually helping out where I can. Look out for our first competition with a decent prize as well coming next week, and well as more videos coming soon!

Hey, how do you decide what to draw…
I always start with mindlessly thinking of subjects to draw :P
I just can’t come up with cool subjects and get in a negative spiral!

    • Well, usually, I start with something in mind, but if I don’t have anything in mind, there’s nothing wrong with drawing cubes and other primitives as practice. Pick something challenging that will push you past your comfort zone.

    Hello!

I’m visiting your site for a while and i like you sketching style! and i like the idea of the sketch-a-day project!!!
And i have a question about your digitising process, how can you do that the background of your sketch is pure white? In general i have a lot of misery to produce this result especially when is scanning a lot of pictures.
    Thanks!

    Daniel from Hungary :)
