Interesting, but I’m really holding out for SBP to make it to the Microsoft Courier: http://www.engadget.com/2010/03/30/switched-on-courier-courts-the-creative/

The built-in paint app actually does resemble SBP’s interface a bit, but either way, I really need pressure sensitivity.

Courier, if it really does exist, could be interesting, but albeit a little late to the game. It’d have to be earth shatteringly simple to use, convenient, and well executed to work out well – things microsoft hasn’t been the best at in the past.

I imagine it will too. I’m picking one up and will write about my experience with it and let everyone know how it it.

Hold the phone, why is this exciting? There have been tablet PCs with active digitizers, high resolution screens, and actual styluses for years now. Some of them are even the exact same slate form factor – and have proper file management systems, to boot! I just bought a seriously fast used tablet PC off eBay last night for just a hair over $550 shipped, so the price point doesn’t thrill me either.

For content consumption, the iPad may be great…for actually creating anything, colour me underwhelmed.

True, but for me, booting up in 5-10 seconds, not having to deal with viruses, and being super thin are all MAJOR pluses. An i’m already part of the apple ecosystem. I for one cannot wait!

Count me in too! I’ll be in line for the iPad and I’ll be buying this new Sketchbook Pro for the iPad.

I think too many people don’t understand and have the wrong expectations for the iPad. It’s not a laptop replacement and not intended as such. It’s a new type of device for media consumption. The thinness and portability is great. And the added functionality of being able to sketch on it is a delightful bonus. Should be a great way to doodle ideas, and create concept roughs or better that can be brought into the full Sketchbook Pro on my Mac and Cintiq! (And if it can be a thinner and better version of the Modbook, then so much the better!)

As a industrial design fan, I cant help but love this thing. I don’t have the cash for the iPad yet, but I definitely plan on having one eventually. I’d love to see a stylus for this thing. You could build pressure sensitivity into the pen and sync it with bluetooth… then you’d be all set. I’d love to have a digital sketchbook to carry around, I can see the iPad getting big with artists.

I will picking up one of these also. A few apple gift cards have made their way to me on my birthday. The only thing I have to decide now is to go Saturday or wait until the crowds calm down. BTW You guys should make a sticky with just sketches done on the ipad.

Yes, I’m waiting on your review and a trail in store to see if I’ll buy one. Hey could you try it with one of the styluses too?
