iPad Sketch Gallery

I’ve been sketching furiously on the iPad for a week or so, and I love it! It’s a great digital sketchbook that’s not only portable, but stylish. While it has it’s drawbacks like pressure sensitivity, and lack fo a full featured editing program like photoshop for example, It makes for a great doodle pad that I can shove in my bag.

Check out what I’ve been up to below in the gallery:

    Thanks for posting.
You ever get around to recording anything yet?
What do you think of the drawing surface now that you have had it for a while? I assume it doesn’t feel as natural as a wacom surface, being so glossy. I personally like the surface of the intuos3 the best out of the 4 versions of wacom pads.

I find the drawing surface sufficient. No video yet. Been tied up in work projects.

I’m so close to pulling the trigger on this, I’m in school now and wanted to know if I could get this to replace my notebooks and sketchpad? I’m afraid it’s too small and the one I playedwith was dwarfed by my sketchbook.

    @ultraorange
I would recommend you playing with one first before you buy it. Because there is a noticeable lag when you draw. The thing with lag though is some people dont mind it as much as others, so I think it would be a good idea for you to try it out and make a decision then.

On a side note, its gotten a bit easier to type on the ipad using the onscreen keyboard. I tried to type the entire alphabet and was able to do it with only 1 or 2 typos at a fairly fast pace.

    Hi Spencer,
I’m wondering, now that you’ve had a little longer to play with it, if you have anymore feedback on the ipad as a sketching tool. I’ve noticed there haven’t been any ipad sketches posted lately. Do you think it is a useful sketching tool or not quite there yet?
    Thanks.

    Hi Spencer,

Just wondering what you think of the Pogo Sketch stylus? I’d really like to get a stylus but I’m not sure which one to go for, the Pogo doesn’t look all that great to be honest and I’ve seen a lot of people expressing concerns over its durability. Any thoughts would be cool.

    1. Love the iPad still.
    2. Pogo sketch stylus works fine for me – it’s no wacom pen, but it does the job. Think of it more as a fun sketchbook than a serious workhorse.
    3. Durability seems fine to me. I haven’t had any issues.

Hi spencer, just saw your site and wanted to ask you if you have seen the dagi stylus or the ostylus? Both have this circle shape, the dagi has a transparent tip so you can see where you are drawing and the other one is just a circle with nothing in the middle so you can also see where you are drawing, im currently studying graphic design and i love sketching with my ipad but dont really like the pogo that much. You should check out youtube for the dagi and ostylus and see how they work. They seem to be a whole lot more comfortable than pogo. Anyways great sketches you got there and keep posting them :)

Does anyone know if you can sketch something so someone else can see the sketch appear in another computer as you draw?
