Pressure sensitive ipad sketching?

I’m on vacation and writing from the beach on my iPad but in read about this and just had to post about it! Ten One design, makers of the pogo sketch stylus many people use to sketch on their ipads, has just come up with a way to enable ores sure sensitivity on the iPad. It uses the amount of contact of the soft tip of the sketch pen as an indicator of the amount of pressure being applied.

It may be somewhat if a long shot having it implemented and working on the iPad since it does seem to use private API’s or programming snippets. Apple has policies in place that disallow the use of such APIs so I’d be a little surprised if they do allow this schema into the app store any time soon. But if they do, could this really be the death of the smaller cintiq and intuos? Time will tell, but i’m sold!

The tenone design macbook touchpad app is old news actually. I learned about it several months ago. It’s definitely interesting though and could eliminate the need to purchase a wacom tablet. On that note however, the ipad stylus or any other conductive material can be used as a pen for your laptop touchpad whether it be a mac or pc. Of course though without the tenone app, it doesnt have pressure sensitivity, but you can emulate it if you have sketchbook pro.

I was considering buying the Wacom Intuos4 large tablet fairly soon but this Ipad has held me back a little. If the Ipad is just as good as being a tablet plus all of its other features then I may be better off getting one of those for the extra money. I shall wait a little longer and see what the verdict is from the Ipad.

I am anxious to see how Wacom responds with their 12in Cintiq with all the tablet craze lately, its the last product that hasn’t been updated(released in 2007 I think) so it is probably due soon within the year, has anybody heard anything about their plans with the 12 inch?

In the video, as I can see the palm rejection only works in that software, it doesn’t say anything about palm rejection on ipad with sketchbook pro, wich would be really useful.

Well, that would be the main reason for me buying this product, otherwise, I don’t see the point.
