I spent a few hours this weekend playing around with my brand new copy of Autodesk’s new SketcBook Pro 2010. We had reported the announcement of it’s release a while back and now it’s here! For your delight, I will be providing a video reveiw of new and improved features this week. For those interested, you can download a trial version right now, otherwise the full version will be available to the rest of the public within a week or so. Stay tuned as we plan to give away a copy or two for FREE very soon!

Review: SketchBook Pro 2010

very nice!!!
I’D love to get one of those free copies!haha
The release of SBP 2010 is possibly the most excited I’ve ever been for a software release. The new features put it way over the top. I’ve been using SBP 2 since it came out, and as a student I hadn’t seen the need to spend the money and jump to 2009. But this is a different story, I’ll be putting down the 100 bucks as soon as I can. Its more than a worthwhile investment.
Does anyone know if you can move the axis of symmetry when doing symmetrical sketching?
I don’t believe you can move the axis. It splits the screen in half horizontal or verticle or both. No way to move it around.
how can we win one of those copies?
If you are a student, I believe this should be available for free on Autodesk’s website under communities->students. Really wish I had a tablet PC or Cintiq to properly use this program.
Yes! Straight Line and Ellipse Guide, so we can still draw prefect everything in 70.
I wish the new version would fix some of the tiny little annoying things such as being able to have multiple sketch windows open. Also being able to change the transparency of a layer with the little triangle in the main layer window, rather than having a separate window come up with a slider. Also, this is being really anal, but when you rename a layer, i wish you could just hit return when you finish, but instead you have to click ‘ok’ Shiz’s messing up my work flow! oh, and that whole changing the axis of the symmetry thing would be nice as well. Other than that, its great.
Pretty cool ‘reflective’ surface. I did wish to get a copy of the free software. I am at sketchbook pro 2.
