Video: Ballpoint Pen and Photoshop

I’m in love with Ballpoint pens, and to prove it, I’ve put together a video showing how I sketch with them, and as a bonus, how I bring them into photoshop for quick value renders. It moves a little quickly once I get into photoshop, but watch it a few times, and you should be good to go. Also, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to email me spencer [at] idsketching.com

    Yo spencer,

First, good your back and uploaded some awesome content. It’s really inspiring to see that sketch a day and I’ve forced myself to do it too.
great video about using those sketchtools. I use this methode a lot and it’s a nice way to communicate your sketches fast and clear.

Keep on sending the good stuff:D

I don’t know if I’m completely convinced you love ballpoint yet… Sure looks as though you like Photoshop a lot too in that video.

Seriously though, this is an awesome video. That red bic has such a distinct look after the PS treatment. Nice technique. I’ll have to play around with that shift trick too.

Mmmm depends on the sketch. Videos take me a couple hrs to put together with setting up, editing, and compressing everything. Sometimes it only takes 15 mins or so, other times 45 mins for something more complex.

Great videos as always. Don’t feel obligated to edit and cut everything down. Sometimes just watching somebody work the way they normally do is more than enough for inspiration. Just set up the camera and let it roll.

This was a great video and gave me some key pointers to do something with some of the sketches I have been drawing and collecting over the years. I have been looking for a better way to bring them to life and this video helps alot, Thanks. I hope to see more great vids and keep up the good work.
